Whether you're:
1. The music director for a school music program
2. The band director for high school or middle school
3. Or simply a new bassoonist getting ready to start your bassoon journey
...below are some popular music books that new bassoonists will often get started on!
Popular music books for newer bassoonists:
Weissenborn (Practical Method for the Bassoon)
Weissenborn (New Weissenborn Method for Bassoon)
Rubank (Elementary Bassoon Method)
Milde (25 Studies in Scales and Chords, Op.24)
Milde (Concert Studies, Op.26)
Amongst these books, a lot of bassoonists really like Weissenborn and it is considered a pretty standard recommendation. It contains lots of exercises and etudes, as well as a practical method guide to the bassoon. Weissenborn is also great because it is frequently used not only for the first few years but also can be used many years later.
Weissenborn was the primary book I started playing when I was in 6th grade! Personally, I enjoyed it a lot. It contains lots of short pieces, many of them quite memorable and a lot of fun to play :)
Below are some helpful images for each! Some of these same books may have different publishers, and so it might be possible that the covers look a little bit different.

These music books above can be purchased from a variety of places, including from many of the suppliers suggested in the resource section of this website.
Because these are very basic music books for the bassoon, you can probably also get them from popular sheet music websites such as imslp.org, jwpepper.com, and trevcomusic.com, or even amazon.com.
